Challenging &
Championing
Students
My teaching philosophy rests on a simple premise: students rise to high expectations when they feel supported, respected, and engaged.
I create classrooms where students feel welcome to take intellectual risks and connect ideas to their own lives. But real learning requires discipline, persistence, and rigor, and I demand each of my students. The result, reflected in my Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI) feedback below, is a classroom grounded in connection, enthusiasm, and accountability. I’m proud that I inspire my students in my classroom and beyond.
Teaching Experience & Awards
This Spring, I was awarded the Albert Warren Scholarship for Excellence in Teaching.
I foster a classroom environment that is welcoming, rigorous, and grounded in creative applications of interdisciplinary materials and communication theory.

“Will was an amazing instructor who was beyond passionate for not only the subject matter, but communications and research as a whole. He had a lot of experience and knowledge to share with us, and made sure we felt like we could come to him for anything. I had a great time in this class and truly learned a lot.”
“Will was one of the best teachers I’ve had because of his personality and teaching style… he grabbed everyone’s attention and combined course information with real-world scenarios.”
“I was worried about the mathematical concepts… but Will’s interactive teaching methods and genuine interest in clearing up our confusions made a really big difference in my performance.”
“I actively looked forward to each lab because of the extra information Will would include. It's nice to have an instructor that genuinely wants us to be well-informed and prepared and does everything in his power to assist with that in what little ways he can.”
“Not only was he helpful in the classroom, but he was kind enough to chat with me about my future career path… an excellent teacher with a great sense of humor.”
